What type of magazine are you?

RnR (previously publishing as Rock'n'Reel and R2) is an eclectic music magazine that, since 1988, has covered a broad base of music, from the mainstream to the fringes of roots, rock, folk, singer-songwriter, blues, world, country and beyond. We're an independently-run publication relying upon a small and enthusiastic, hard-working team striving to alert you to some of the great sounds that may otherwise slip through the cracks and escape your attention.

Do you do reviews?

Yes. Our review section is possibly the most extensive of any UK-based magazine with over 300 releases and reissues (CDs, DVDs and books) covered per issue. That said, we have limited space and naturally we don't guarantee to review everything we receive. We cannot return your CDs.

How do I get my CD reviewed in RnR?

You post a CD or, sensibly, two copies to RnR's editorial team at PO Box 38, Cleator Moor, CA25 5WA, England. We do not accept reviews of items sent direct to a reviewer by the producing company or bought privately by the reviewer, unless we specifically requested it. Please note that we only review new releases from finished production copies. We can't delve into back catalogue and we do not normally review CDs from pre-production copies without full final packaging, since it is important that the reviewed item is what the reader will buy. Generally we have little or no space for privately-produced short run CD-Rs. We do not review from mp3s, digital downloads or streams. All we need with your CD is a simple biography or 'one sheet'. We don't need reams of reviews from other publications. Your CD should be a new release, not something that has been kicking around for months and months.

Can you let me know when you receive or review my recording?

Unfortunately, no. We receive hundreds of e-mails each day and hundreds of items for possible review per week so it isn't practical for us to get back to everybody directly, no matter how much we'd like to. If you want to see a review then either subscribe to RnR here or order it from your local newsagent. (Tell them we're distributed by Seymour) If you're a serious music fan or serious about your own music you'll find RnR a vital resource.

Can you listen to my tracks online and leave a comment or let me know what you think?

Unfortunately not. We receive many similar requests per day and we simply haven't the time to listen to music online. If you want a review then please follow the instructions highlighted in response to question 3.
